Landscape Design & Installation

Designed for your property, priced line by line, and installed by the people who drew it.

Design · Estimate · Install

The plan and the crew come from the same company

Most landscapes that disappoint people were never really designed. Plants got bought, holes got dug, and three years later half of it is struggling because the sun, the soil or the water was never part of the decision.

We design before we price. Somebody walks your property, measures it, looks at where the sun actually falls, how the ground drains, what the soil is doing and what you want to use the space for. Then we draw a plan, put a number on it, and if you go ahead, our own crews install what we drew.

Design comes with the bid. On a typical residential project there is no separate design fee — the plan is part of quoting the work, not a product we sell you first.

Scope

What we design and install

Planting beds & ornamentals

Bed layout, soil preparation, shrubs, ornamental grasses, perennials and seasonal colour — chosen for the light and the drainage they will actually get.

Trees & shrubs

Species and placement matter more than size at planting. We site trees for what they will be in fifteen years, not for how the lot looks the week you move in.

Sod & turf establishment

Grade preparation, sod installation and the watering plan that gets it rooted. Choosing the right grass for the light is half the job — see our grass guide.

Synthetic turf

For deep shade, dog areas, narrow side yards and backyard putting greens — where real grass has been losing the argument for years.

Hardscape & edging

Borders, stone and paver work, seat and retaining walls, decomposed granite paths, and the grading that has to be right underneath all of it.

Drainage & grading

Blackland clay does not forgive a drainage mistake. Where water goes is designed in at the start, not fixed later. See drainage.

Irrigation designed to the plan

Beds and turf on separate zones from day one, drip where drip belongs. Our own licensed irrigation crews, not a sub who never saw the landscape plan.

Water-wise & native planting

Beautiful and low-water are not opposites here. See Texas native and water-wise landscaping.

Mulch, edging & finish

Bed edges cut properly, mulch at the right depth, and a site left clean. The last two hours of a job are what people remember.

How it runs

From first walk to finished yard

1We walk the property with you

What you want to use the space for, what you dislike about it now, what has died before and where. We look at sun and shade through the day, drainage, soil, existing irrigation and any HOA rules that apply.

2We design it

A plan for the areas we are working on — bed shapes, plant selections and quantities, hardscape, turf, and how the irrigation has to change to support it.

3You get a line-item estimate

Priced by area and by scope so you can see what each part costs. If the whole thing is more than you want to spend, we phase it rather than water it down.

4Revisions before anybody digs

Changing a plan is free. Changing a planted bed is not. We would rather spend an extra week on the drawing.

5Installation

Our own crews, scheduled around planting season where it matters. Irrigation adjusted or extended before the plants go in, not after.

6Establishment and follow-up

Watering instructions written for the plants we actually installed, a walk-through when it is finished, and warranty on the plant material as quoted.

Why design matters here specifically

North Texas punishes a generic plan

A landscape plan drawn without reference to this region is a plan to replace plants. Four local realities decide what survives:

  • Blackland clay that swells after rain and shrinks hard in an August drought, moving everything planted in it
  • Heat and sun exposure that turn a west-facing bed into a completely different growing environment from the north side of the same house
  • Two-day-a-week watering limits for most of the year, which caps what a thirsty design can be given
  • Drainage — where the water goes in a heavy storm decides which plants drown and which ones never get any

Designing around those is not a constraint on the look. It is the difference between a landscape that fills in and one that is being patched by year three.

FAQs

Design and installation questions

Do you charge for the design?

Not on a typical residential project — the plan is part of how we quote the work. Larger commercial and development projects with a formal design phase are handled differently; we will tell you plainly which one yours is before we start.

Can we do it in stages?

Yes, and it is often the smarter way. We design the whole property, then price it in phases so each stage is finished properly rather than the entire yard being done thinly.

When is the best time to plant in North Texas?

Autumn is the best planting window here, and spring is second. Roots establish in cool soil before summer demands anything of them. We do install year-round, but if you have the choice, autumn plantings need noticeably less nursing.

Will my sprinkler system need changing?

Almost always something. New beds rarely line up with zones designed for an older layout, and turf converted to bed should come off a spray zone. Because we hold the irrigation licence in house, that gets designed in rather than bolted on.

Do you warranty the plants?

Plant warranty is stated on the quote for the material we supply and install. What it does not cover is a plant that was never watered — which is why you get written watering instructions for what we actually planted.

Can you work with our HOA requirements?

Yes. Tell us the guidelines up front and we will design inside them. We also hold grounds maintenance contracts with HOAs, so the rules are familiar territory.
